There is so much beauty in the world I find myself turning away, closing my eyes, trying to suppress my need to possess it. Those blue emotive eyes, the smile of a child, the winter sky reflecting a rainbow, the right tool for the job, the sweetest bite of cake. I want to own it all, and failing this, to simply be a part of it, to know my own beauty, perhaps share it in verse, a gift offered in humility.
