Never In the Moment
I tried to steal you for inspiration, while standing at the station,
in the valley of my home.
And though it was not bad – in fact the best I’ve ever had – I
now know the terror of my error.
If you could only see how I shudder when my thoughts recoil
in search of my muse - god I’m confused.
I wonder if I’m a traitor, so I ask the addict if I’ve hit my nadir –
No Answer.
Now as I lay alone to sleep, but not yet that deep, I search
for consolation.
Should I see her again, maybe now but maybe then, I would ask
to share her inspiration, while standing at the station, in the
valley of my home.
