You didn’t need me but I needed more of you. Life seemed easier for you when you found me. For this, I was happy. A gift to be able to give. So little remained to nourish me. I turned to a higher power. “Humility,” came the response. My proud heart balked. You watched confused, certain I was going to die, ‘cause I told you that’s how I felt.
