Transformation

God please help me to hold the tension,
and allow me to die to my emotions.
I lie here wounded by experience.
Lift up my soul with your love.

I have no clear idea
of where to go,
of what to do.
The wise say only:
Do it with love.

What happened to the old me?
I used to know myself.
I knew what I was all about.
Now I keep my despair hidden,
except in this sacred notebook.

Was it under the crepe myrtle tree
when I first asked God to lead me,
that my transformation began?

Alas, I must let go of knowing!
The time has come
to leave the darkness,
so I may live in the light.
