To the Dogs

The dogs say,
if you don’t like the music
howl,
and if it smells good
then eat it.
Who can argue with their logic?

You say,
but I know better.
This isn’t exactly true.
You know what you know
for better or worse,
but you can’t argue
with the sun or the moon,
and the dogs don’t have time
for lengthy explanations.

Your over-stuffed head,
tilting from side-to-side,
is making them dizzy.
They just want to get out
and go for a walk.
