Breathing Under Water
Teach me. Please teach me! I cry into the darkness, then collapse exhausted. The rain begins to fall and keeps falling, and keeps falling. I wake to water at my neck and therefore begin to swim, searching for a higher ground. The rain keeps falling, thus drowning becomes my all-consuming fear, and keeping my head above water my living preoccupation. The rain keeps falling, and with no land in sight death moves ever closer. I keep swimming then begin to consider the impossible possibility of breathing under water. My head dips below the surface and from within my watery world I notice the clouds breaking.
