Truth
Listen for the ringing of truth in your ears.
You will know the sound
as alliteration of soul and spirit,
where the river flows into the ocean.
Truth bears no resemblance
to the flimsy promises
of the comfortable men
and well-intentioned women
who can see no further
than their car and their desires
can carry them.
Truth rings because truth stings,
and this will be so
whether you like it or not.
Even if you don’t go in search of truth,
you are certain to stumble upon it
as it is assuredly looking for you.
