The Love You Seek
It’s hard to love a slowly dying man, perhaps even harder than facing your own death. But don’t mistake the difficult man for the even more difficult task, which is to inhabit the love within your very being. Love of youth, of beauty and of abundance comes easily, but it cannot endure the weather, the dark night, nor the unquenchable thirst which leads to the inevitable loss of self. The love you seek, though you may be unaware of it, pushes through tiny cracks and enters beneath locked doors. It whispers everything you don’t want to hear, then slowly demolishes the vault you built around your own precious love.
