Soul of the West

Today more will die
then yesterday,
and more will come
to take their place.

Still the surprising deaths
of a well-known person or two
brings all the living and dying
to the forefront of my mind.

I sit facing north,
but my heart and soul
is already heading west
in search of a mysterious lover
who will reach into
my most feminine soul
and show me the light
lurking within each darkness,
and the new oceans and forests
still waiting to be born.

This consciousness,
what a gift!
Yet what a curse it is to see
and not see everything.
Come closer faith and love.
Fill the gulf of my unknowing.
