Silence is a valid offering
to anyone
to no one
to a question for which you have no answer.

Silence chosen and not imposed
is powerful.
It creates space
to hold the tension of contemplation,
shielding the heart from the sparks
of the present moment.

Silence turns love into peaceful action,
softens the harsh voice,
holds the heavy hand.
It allows the breath of God
to enter your body.

Silence knows all suffering,
sees into the dark
where it plants seeds in the subconscious,
which grow into great flowers of our awakening.
