I look in the mirror and see a good man clinging to an order which never really existed. He’s sober to his reality yet struggles to let go, clenching tightly his hands around the pearl of his ego. He knows he does not know. He knows how to laugh and cry. He longs for men and women with whom to hold this gaze of knowing. He looks back at me until I must turn away. I am feeling overwhelmed, having glimpsed the face of God.
