Ownership
If I want to keep all of this stuff, I’m gonna have to find places to put it. And from time-to-time I’m gonna have to move it. I may even need to protect it from a clumsy friend or an opportune burglar. I often wonder how that vase on the traveling roadshow lasted 1000 years. And what about the armoire smuggled from France during their Revolution? Who made it? Who purchased it first, and then spent years taking care of it, just as I am dutifully taking care of my stuff? I now pass ownership of my incessant worry, along with my stuff to the coming generations, even though there is nothing which I can hold so tightly it will wrench me from death’s firm grip.
