like the drops of water
rolling off the brown oak leaf
still clinging to the branch,
recalling the glory of last summer.
March arrives,
saturated by rain and melting snow,
full of unspent energy
from undisturbed nights
and shortened days.

not yet fully awake,
but asking for your voice
and for your presence
