Open Mouth
Waiting and longing.
My love is an open mouth
waiting to be fed,
longing for water,
waiting for wine,
longing to be filled
by invisible air,
waiting for breath
to sing songs with soul,
longing to give and receive kisses,
waiting to bite into
forbidden fruit.
My love is an open mouth
through which the Universe
comes and goes as she pleases,
like the sun and moon,
like the tide and wind,
like the you and me
in that old photo.
