Living in Relationship
How is it I’ve come to have so little faith in my fellow men and women? Why do I not trust their good and instead expect them to be bad? My disappointment has steadily grown, and has created a chasm in my own connectedness, in my own ability to be human. Accepting my wounding by others, even as I inflict wounds upon them, is the unconscious agreement of relationship. Unexpected solitude and silence, along with the wisdom of the surrendered, have offered me this insight: Patience, living in liminal space, the holding of all of the absences, love, labor, children and family, feeling my wholeness in spite of my brokenness, bowing to humility - all of this creates the tolerance to love others as they are and to allow them to love me.
