Let it go whispers the wind...

It is hard to imagine the absence
of that which is present in front of you,
the very thing so obvious and real,
right there before your eyes,
emanating from within or without.

Suddenly it just disappears!
And then,
you too will be gone,
but only that part of you
which would hold on to anything too tightly.

Let it go whispers the wind.
There is plenty of rock for you to stand on.
Just know it too will become dust.

Tell me,
the angel asks,
On the darkest of nights
when there is no moon
and fear grips you in a cold embrace,
what is it that holds you until the light?

Time and my unrelenting experience of it erodes me,
revealing the very soul of the universe.
I am part of this creation -
never ending.
