Journey
A luckier man I know not one,
afloat in a marsh, on his hip a gun.
Daddy haunts me, the eerie echo in his head.
With heavy heart his journey he doth dread.
He longs for the sky a California Blue,
and in his lover’s eyes the very same hue.
The sun will burn the swamp mist from his mind.
Gone are the shackles that so long did bind.
