Keeper of the "BE"

Peace comes in the night.
Only then are things put to right.
Yet the revealing day is sure to invade,
and as morning approaches the harmony fades.
For I am the Keeper of the “Be.”
I am the symphony, and I am free.

Fate is heavy-handed on my soul.
Her faceless virtues I must extol.
I know the bitter hypocrisy that surrounds.
Still I rejoice in the wonder that confounds.
For I am the Keeper of the “Be.”
I realize that simplicity is the key.

Destiny crowned me. I had no choice.
Now civilization pursues me to crush my voice.
So I speak bitterly, spitting wild thunder.
My mission is to build and not to plunder.
For I am the Keeper of the “Be.”
I am heavy-hearted - I am uncertainty.

Try to find me on the plains,
and all you’ll see is the lions’ manes.
If you look especially close,
I am the bulging vein in the bulls’ throat.
For I am Keeper of the “Be.”
Both fear and rage abound inside of me.
