I Can Handle It
I can handle it. Yet in the space between those words lingers great doubt. I’ve grown too old to see any romance in death. It is a passage beyond my senses, beyond my understanding, beyond the point of no return. Faith. I have to repeat it. Faith. For when the road becomes bumpy, I forget I don’t know the way and am only following to where I’m being led. The prophet tells me: Drink the wine before it becomes vinegar. Remember your strength and experience. Let love set your heart on fire, so it will keep you warm in the night.
