Divine Tension
Somewhere a body wakes,
soulless
and set free
by the dream of immortality,
and by a very strange alliance
of his id and superego.
Elsewhere a baby is born,
soulful
and set free
by life’s creativity,
and by a lust for all life
she will never transcend.
The fact these two exist,
side by side
in place and time,
proves the presence of divine tension
within this vast Universe.
