All in God's Time

Starting may seem difficult,
especially if you buy into
a beginning and an end,
or into any absolute
while still unaware
there are no absolutes.

Bob Seger sings,
See the young man run against the wind.
But as time goes by
I see too few men turning,
and with their backs to the wind,
letting the unseen move them
in a direction they’d rather not go.

We all start
right where we’re dropped.
There’s no rhyme.
There’s no reason.
Life’s not fair,
and there’s no amount of good luck
which cannot turn bad
and then back again.

Remember what you learned
when you knew nothing
about being a man,
about being a woman.
Time, like the carousel,
goes round and round
and will eventually come back for you.
