Acceptance

I’m a bit apprehensive this morning.
I want to write a brilliant poem,
still my words don’t always come out just right.
So I invite acceptance to sit down with me.

Acceptance is a gracious guest,
always welcome,
with a standing invitation.
Like me, I hope you’ll come to realize,
acceptance is what makes choice possible.

I accept this may not be the best poem I’ve written.
My simple surrender allows the words to flow.
Here on the page is my heart -
my love for all of you.
