You crack me up with a clever turn of phrase.
My smile turns up and to the left.
I cough out a laugh
thinking:
I hope to meet you someday.
This awakens the absurd inside of me.
Now I too muse:
How wonderfully strange it would be
to greet others by patting them on their stomachs
or touching their left ear with my right hand.
So I’m guessing your writing has opened doors
and no doubt dropped some panties,
leading to more poems,
and eventually to that hopeless feeling
of spilling ink into the wind.
I think you might be like me.
You come upon the Grand Canyon.
The sheer enormity is preposterous.
So you just sit there laughing,
knowing God is a brilliant comedian,
waiting a little longer to descend
while thinking seriously about a leap of faith,
almost certain you could fly.
