A Sip of Self-Knowledge

I know something more about myself today.
This kind of knowledge,
a self-knowledge,
sometimes comes along
in tics and tocs,
and then as suddenly as
a silver bullet piercing my forehead.

The Portland Poetess tells her lover,
You are ruining my loneliness.
And I think a-ha!
Yes, I am.
This is my calling,
to ruin my loneliness
for myself
with God.

I am so thirsty,
damnit won’t someone give me a drink?
-just a sip!

I prefer a drink that heals,
poured by a hand which can feel
my need to be loved.
