What to Ask Your Lady
I suppose I would ask my lady what it feels like to be a woman, ‘cause I would really want to know how she felt. If my tone was sincere, I don’t think she’d offer me a lot of clichés. She might ask me what it is like to be a man, and I would tell her everything from the physical to the spiritual. I could tell her about the brute strength which courses through the entire body, by way of the veins in the throat and locking at the jaw. And then I would tell her about the helplessness a man feels in such a large and trying world. And I’d also mention that I have a hard time separating myself from my perception of things; even going so far as to forget my appearance. At times I have to remember what I look like to other people. I think back to the person I see in the mirror, and yet I still cannot remember if my hair is long or short, or even my eye color. I hope she would tell me things like that. In fact, I could tell her all about her smell and what color her eyes are, and the sounds she makes in my mind.
