What People Want

What do people want the most?
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost?

I decided to ask a friend.
“They want to know what comes in the end.”

No, I thought, that cannot be.
They want the love of all and they want to be free.

“And you,” asked my friend.
“Don’t you wish to know about the end?”
“Of course not,” I replied,
“That belongs to those who died.
“I want the love of people, and fame thereafter.
“For I possess knowledge of the hereafter.”

“Think more clearly,” came her voice from the heavens.
“You’re ever so lucky I carry your sevens.
“Go now and share your life with her,
“and know that with me your fame is secure.”

Thus fate smiled upon me.
Forever after I will hold the key.
