This Same Love
My loneliness is more poignant knowing you are out there, somewhere, not here, not beside me touching my chin, saying nothing, but still speaking with your eyes and coy smiles which form words in my mind. Suddenly I am angry because I am needy, because I need your words and your eyes, your lips, your hands, your heart. I have sat in the desert where God is unmasked in the sheer enormity of the landscape. And I have listened to those rocks which say nothing, yet say it so well. Come closer. Touch me. Feel my beating heart. Feel your beating heart. Know it as the very same love.
