The Road to Home
I was told often to confront all my fears, to venture out into this world and leave my tiny life behind. At first I hesitated, then hopped a train to Montana, caught a plane to California, later crossed the ocean to Europe, and eventually got lost in Mexico. I did as I was told, confronted my fears near and far, yet I never discovered the ground where lived my human soul. Now I’m tired and recognizably older. Again I’m hearing voices. This time they’re telling me to go deeper within.
