The Quiet
I’m not sure if it’s the questions or the explanations I find more tedious. Maybe it is all the declarations - I believe this. So and so is that! Noise! It’s all noise, none of it very useful. I prefer the hum of a bumble bee as it floats precariously close to my cup. I like the din of a cast iron bell in a centuries old church steeple. And I enjoy the sound of a friend’s voice while we chat during his morning commute. Lord knows I am not a quiet person. I much prefer a bustling ballpark to a lonely library. Nevertheless, in that utter vacuum of outer space, the silence of which is deafening, where I came to know my own soul in God - is the very foundation of all being.
