The Lame Goat Leads

The prophet assures me
it is the lame goat
who leads the herd home.

Home.
Home is rest for me.
Home is where I let my guard down.
Home is a place of affirmation.
At home I see my reflection
and am told I am good.

I need this affirmation
almost as much as I need air,
food and clean water.
My life is a prayer and a plea,
and hopefully a gift given freely.

Thank you.
I see you.
I care.
I love you.
These are the phrases
which save lives
and lead the herd home.

So the lame goat leads.
This is my affirmation for today.
