Am I willing to look honestly at myself?
Is there any other way,
once your heart has been broken,
once you have fallen,
once you have come to a dead end?
A good look in the mirror requires humility,
a healthy sense of humor,
and then the strength of steel
to look inward,
really peer into those dark spaces,
taking inventory of what you find there.
Fear, fury, failure, frustration,
all parts of the experience,
until that moment arrives,
the searching now complete,
with no unexplored places left to map,
you see your world anew.
