Remaining Open
It’s much harder
for me to keep this page empty,
than to fill it with the words
which pour out of my senses
containing all the worries
of a privileged man,
who after falling from his lofty perch,
now sits eye to eye
with all he looked down upon.
I now realize both the meanness
as well as the deeper beauty of life,
and am only just beginning to write
outside the lines.
