Re-purpose your loyal soldiers.

It’s time to let go
of everything not working
in sympathy and solidarity
with your renewed efforts
to exhume your precious soul
from that resting place
where you buried it long ago
promising never to return.

Gather your loyal soldiers,
those who once helped you
to prepare the shallow grave,
then ushered your body off
for last rites.

Be sure to thank them
for their devoted service
in all the survival battles
you waged together.

But let them know
the war is finally over
and the time has come
for you to reclaim your soul
in everlasting peace.
