Primal Clarity
...through an open heart.
The real work is digging in the ground. Who says so? Rumi does. And also anyone who’s ever stooped beneath the sun to touch something which at first may be too frightening to handle. For in that mud and soil are alien insects, along with the blood and bones of forgotten generations. So on a wintry day it’s easy for me to look at a patch of muddy ground with maybe a cow or two searching for some grass to eat, and think a bit restlessly, What is my life about? Truth be told, the only way for me to know anything bigger than the hellish nightmare called my imperial ego is to writhe in that mud until I recognize my being in its primordial state.
