Perception
Perhaps the most unique thing about me is my perception which is too easily conflated with my soul, yet more conveniently exploited by my ego. I find perception so intriguing, because it is the window through which I perceive the world and come to know the passage of time. I see beauty and color, I see struggle and suffering, I see the tide rising, first slowly around my toes, then suddenly above my ankles, now swiftly up to my waist. The water which gave me life is consuming me. Both clear and opaque I peer into its turbulent glass, while I struggle to remember how I breathed under water.
