Middle Years
When the going gets tough...
If I say leave me alone often enough, the world eventually obliges. Sure it may take a few years, but at some point I’ll wake up to an indifferent solitude, which asks nothing of me and offers only a bitter truth – if I can even manage to make the silence talk. And if you’re like me, at times you may wonder, how far should I go to defend my tiny patch of ground? Or maybe you notice little things, like these words shifting in and out of focus. I now do what I must do for my own soul and no one else’s. I will carry no water for those towering above me, and let this present moment take care of the rest. My morning routine means nothing if it does not plow my soul, planting a new seed for each new day.
