Maine

The Atlantic sun pitches its light high,
as the seagull wails,
Hooray for summer!

All the while
I am mesmerized by clouds
drifting out to sea,
heavy and gray,
just before the light hits them.

I can feel the timeless rhythm of my heartbeat,
just above the inaudible groan
of our Mother Earth,
giving birth in her endless act of creation.

It’s so ridiculously beyond my comprehension,
this world,
quintessentially alive
and utterly accessible.

Green, blue, white, orange and red -
in the sky and in the water,
are so many shades and hues!

With total humility I thank the Creator,
and then beg to see some more.
