I Wonder
I wonder what I would do
without Fear always haunting me.
I wonder what I would do
if not driven by the Myth of Scarcity.
I thought I was fearless
when I went into the desert.
Then everything changed that night
as Darkness stared back at me.
I wonder which voices
have fallen silent beneath my foot,
and what treasures I have let go
trying to become omnipotent.
So now I sit,
close to the ground,
eroded by my fears,
now raised up by hope,
weary and still wary,
afraid but no longer frightened.
