I Must Remember
I must remember
to keep something beautiful
in my heart
always
always.
I must remember
to keep something beautiful
in my heart
always
always.
Should I forget,
the sun may choose to retreat
and the sky grow cloudy,
muting the many splendid colors
all around me
everywhere.
The beauty I hold near
intensifies
the beauty I carry within.
Though I do not smile
or laugh often enough,
nearer to the surface
is my rogue spirit,
forever on the quest
for unexpected beauty
and holy perfection.
