I'm Counting on You
I’m counting on you, all of you, who know my face— my smiling face, and my angry face. I’m counting on you for support when I find it difficult to stand on my own. And I’m counting on you for wisdom when my feelings overwhelm and I cannot discern the path ahead. I’m also counting on you for a joke, because you know the way I can get when I forget to laugh and everything becomes as serious as the day is long. I’m counting on your companionship, because I’ve let go of my tether and can no longer find myself at the center of this universe. I’m counting on you to share this drink from a bottle labeled Uncertainty, that we may revel in the mystery together while traveling deeper into the unknown.
