How?
How do you surrender
without extinguishing
that little flame which is you?
How do you make peace with war?
How do you let the darkness pass through
while not losing something of yourself to it?
When the parts in the box
no longer match the picture on the box,
what is it you can make?
Is it always worth it to try yet again?
Or by simply submitting our will
to something greater called God,
do we exit the prison of our own making?
This may be the journey of our lives -
an effortless transition to real freedom.
