Here With Me

...for Ed

You could be anywhere,
but you’re here with me.

Thank you,
thank you so much
for being here with me.

Your life is noisy.
Your life is busy.
Death came calling.
Fear came calling.
But you still showed up
to be here with me.

The wine in your cup,
the water in your eyes,
the silence surrounding you,
sanctifies your humble presence.

I’m so glad you’re here with me.
