Generosity will not make you a doormat just as fear will not make you a coward. The day comes to teach you these things and the night is your proving grounds. Every day you open your door love is waiting on the step wondering, “Where have you been? We’ve got much to do.” That’s when the child leaps out of your chest saying, “Here I am!” and takes the hand of love.
