"Great"
The days are long but I see her clearly.
I wonder if she knows I want her near me.
The sun rises, the sun sets;
she wakes thinking, and in sleep forgets.
On certain mornings it is her form I behold,
yet it is her soul that warms my cold.
The sun rises, the sun sets;
she wakes thinking, and in sleep forgets.
Scarred by eternity I pass her by,
concealing vulnerabilities I would deny.
The sun rises, the sun sets;
she wakes thinking, and in sleep forgets.
Behold her power to crush the darkness,
her hand extended in naked starkness.
The sun rises, the sun sets;
she wakes thinking, and in sleep forgets.
Our touch glows in the bleakest night.
love transcends all if not put to flight.
Joined as one in age-old repair;
we learn as much as we are willing to share.
The sun rises, the sun sets;
she dwells within me, in her I forget.
