Gravity
I pray that some things always remain
out of my reach,
unattainable,
unrealized,
absolute but unknown.
Nothing has been more tragic to me
than my arrogant certainty,
and nothing has been more reassuring
than utter mystery.
When I lose my grounding
I can be thankful for the gravity
pulling me back into the mud,
and for the stars which reveal their light,
even though I will never know them personally.
