Going Round in Circles
Up down turn around. That’s my dog finding a place to flop, maybe chasing an itch or noticing his tail. That’s me too, going in circles, not sure of my direction, all twisted and uncomfortable. The news today is not good. No, it’s not good at all. Insert tragedy here. Insert sadness there. Insert drugs to alleviate the pain everywhere. It could all go away suddenly. Snap! All the pain and struggle would just be gone. This happens all the time, and sometimes for those who remain among the living. The world is circular. The universe is circular. Thus time is circular. A spinning dog learns his tail is forever out of reach. A spinning human may one day see the back of her own head. That’s the magnificent moment when nothing will ever be the same.
