Forgotten Truth
She explodes in my mind like a new thought, or better yet like a forgotten truth, buried so deeply - who knows where? - that it took a star map, or rather her brown eyes and kind smile, for me to find it again. I know her as I know God, completely and not at all. Still she is not my belief, she is my experience, the very conversation of cells made possible by love, the official language of an infinite Universe. I can hardly speak my mouth is so full of crickets and of superlatives for her beauty, for the wonderful space she occupies inside of me. Don’t we now know death by another name? I am not the I I once was, or the I I will be, because you kissed me.
