Forgiving Myself

I forgive myself -
for everything,
for all the bullshit,
for desiring perfection
more than perfect ever desires to be manifest.

I let go,
because letting go is what life is all about.
And I notice in my letting go and letting flow,
blood and water drip feeding the hungry ground
as something new bursts forth.

Maybe you,
the one who’s done it more perfectly than me,
can see my folly even more clearly,
as you watch the tide overtake me.

The truth I had forgotten.
This I knew when I was born:
the true lightness of my being.
