At first light it seems today is about sadness, the sudden waking to an upset stomach, grumbling, arousing old pain, picking at wounds. But it needn’t be so, everything turning over, melting even, like snow becoming water, and dripping away. Love is not lost. And so this day begins with a blink, with an exhale, with a hug, even with a headache.
