Fire Goes

The human soul is on fire.

Fire goes
in all directions.
Where the wind blows
the flames soon follow,
and the red hot glow
finds fresh fuel
in the hearts and minds
of a sleeping people.

Burn,
feel the burn,
then watch the flames
go higher and higher,
as they climb in the sky
before falling
relentlessly forward.

Now breathe.
Inhale deeply.
Let the breath cool
and cleanse away the ash
to reveal a beautiful soul
at the core your being.
